Donations
We use Anedot to securely process campaign contributions. When you donate, Anedot collects information necessary to process your transaction and comply with legal requirements, including your name, billing address, email address, and payment information.
- Security: Anedot is PCI Level 1 compliant and uses industry-standard encryption to protect your financial data. They do not share your financial data with us.
- Data Usage: Your personal information is used to process your gift and provide you with a receipt. Neither the Campaign nor Anedot will sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Legal Disclosure Requirements (Utah Law)
As a candidate for the Utah House of Representatives, I am required by state law to collect and report certain information about campaign contributors. Please be aware of the following:
- Public Disclosure: Utah law requires the campaign to report the name and address of every contributor. For donations exceeding $50, we must also report your occupation and employer.
- Public Record: Information submitted with your donation—specifically your name, address, date of contribution, and amount—will be filed with the Utah Lieutenant Governor’s Office and will become a matter of public record available on their financial disclosure website.
Contacting the Campaign
If you contact us via email, through a contact form on this site, or by signing up for our newsletter, we collect the information you provide (such as your name and email address).
- Purpose: We use this information solely to respond to your inquiries, provide campaign updates, or manage volunteer efforts.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of receiving future email communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Who we share your data with
When do not share any data with other parties other than with the Lieutenant Governor’s office as detailed under donations.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we remove any comment, endorsement, or other personal data we hold about you.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
