Meet Darren Croft
Darren is 59 years old and a 34 year resident of Cottonwood Heights. Before retiring as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2022, Darren worked with stakeholders from all levels of business to design and build complex systems to grow a competitive, efficient business. This included technology, risk mitigation, physical facilities, and budgets. He is president of four condo associations and has successfully led solutions to boundary disputes, structural problems, and improvements. Darren focuses on long term strategic goals, analyzes ideas, and audits results to avoid short term thinking and minimize unintended consequences. He is experienced and prepared to lead in the legislature, especially in the critical areas of AI, energy, and infrastructure.
Darren and his wife BihShya have been married for 37 years and have five children and 15 grandchildren. Darren’s goal is for all children to enjoy reading and learning, receive education and training, and develop grit and wisdom. Darren will prioritize education funding where it will make a real difference in children’s lives.
Darren loves our mountains, deserts, canyons, parks, and trails. He runs regularly at Wheeler Farm, Mountview Park, and Crestwood Park. He will make sure Utahns are able to use and enjoy our precious resources!
Darren is hard working, disciplined, thoughtful, experienced, and has an extreme sense of duty. As a retired professional with grown children, he has the significant advantage of being able to devote himself full-time to serving our community.
